GHEA – The Genoa High Entropy Alloys thermodynamic database

Development of a thermodynamic database designed for advanced alloy systems, including Superalloys and High Entropy Alloys (HEAs), possibly supported by experimental investigations. The GHEA database includes 15 elements (Al, B, C, Co, Cr, Fe, Hf, Mo ,Ni, Re, Si, Ta, Ti, W, Y)  70 binary and 90 ternary fully assessed systems in addition to the thermodynamic models of more than 200 phases.

For more details see the GHEA Presentation and visit the GHEA werbsite

Concluded projects

SATA – Super Alloys for Turbine Applications

Thermodynamic modelling of Co- and Ni-based superalloys and related metallic coatings (CoNiCrAlY family) for simulation of materials behaviour in gas turbine blades.
The SuperAlloys database under development in this project includes the following elements: Al, C, Co, Cr, Ni, Re, Si, Ta, W, Y. For more details see Presentation_SATA.pdf

  TBC – Thermal Barrier Coatings

Thermodynamic modelling and experimental investigation of ceramic materials for TBC applications and simulation of their interactions with CMAS (Ca, Mg, Al containing silicates). The TBC database developed in this project includes the following oxides: Al2O3, CaO, Cr2O3, MgO, NiO, Y2O3, ZrO.

INSURFCAST – Innovative Surfaces for Superalloy Casting

Investigation of new ceramic materials for application as mould materials for superalloy casting.
(M-ERANET European project 2017-2020). For more details see Presentation_INSURFCAST.pdf
