Ongoing Projects
SATA – Super Alloys for Turbine Applications
Thermodynamic modelling of Co- and Ni-based superalloys and related metallic coatings (CoNiCrAlY family) for simulation of materials behaviour in gas turbine blades.
The SuperAlloys database under development in this project includes the following elements: Al, C, Co, Cr, Ni, Re, Si, Ta, W, Y. For more details see Presentation_SATA.pdf
GHEA – Genoa High Entropy Alloys
Thermodynamic modelling and experimental investigation of High Entropy Alloys, especially for high temperature applications. The GHEA database under development in this project includes the following elements: Al, C, Co, Cr, Fe, Hf, Mo, Ni, Re, Si, Ti, Ta, W, Y. For more details see Presentation_HEA_2022.pdf
Concluded projects
TBC – Thermal Barrier Coatings
Thermodynamic modelling and experimental investigation of ceramic materials for TBC applications and simulation of their interactions with CMAS (Ca, Mg, Al containing silicates). The TBC database developed in this project includes the following oxides: Al2O3, CaO, Cr2O3, MgO, NiO, Y2O3, ZrO.
INSURFCAST – Innovative Surfaces for Superalloy Casting
Investigation of new ceramic materials for application as mould materials for superalloy casting.
